US House Republicans unveiled a $95 billion spending framework that would include funding tied to the war with Iran.
This is the House’s final major push to pass defence, farm and voting restriction measures before midterm elections that could cost them control of Congress.
The budget blueprint would allow them to bypass Democratic opposition to provide $73 billion in additional military and intelligence agencies funding amid the war in Iran.
The Republicans aim to push forward a Pentagon spending request the White House sent to Congress last month to pay for the conflict in the Middle East.
It was rejected by Democrats who are angry at Donald Trump for starting and continuing the war without congressional authorisation.
The plan would also provide $12 billion in aid for farmers hurt by Mr Trump’s trade war.
