A Ukrainian rocket has reportedly struck a key Russian oil pipeline that normally sees 33 million tons of oil transit through it on its route from Belarus to Europe, bypassing Ukraine.
According to the news publication MASH on Telegram, Ukrainian forces used a Soviet-era OTR-21 Tochka, a tactical ballistic missile, to strike the Druzhba oil pipeline in the Bryansk region 250 miles southwest of Moscow.
The region is roughly 60 miles north of the Ukrainian border by the Sumy region.
According to MASH, the rocket fell near the Novozybkov oil pumping station.
The pipeline is the principal artery for the transportation of Russian oil across Europe, making its way through Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany.
