The street in Tirana, capital of Albania, where both the Russian and Ukrainian embassies are located will be renamed as “Free Ukraine”, the city Mayor has announced.

Erion Veliaj told Reuters: “Our generation will be marked by this bloody Russian aggression, and the heroic resistance of Ukraine should be remembered in our public places.”

He added this would send a message to those working in the city’s Russian embassy.

Mr Veliaj said: “The Russians will have to work, live and get their mail on a Free Ukraine street address.”
